Kiwi breweries shine at AIBA
New Zealand breweries have scooped all three Champion International Brewery trophies at the 2023 Australian International Beer Awards (AIBA) held in Melbourne.
Garage Project was awarded Champion Large International Brewery; Auckland’s Behemoth Brewing claimed Champion Medium International Brewery; and Taranaki’s Three Sisters Brewery took out Champion Small International Brewery.
Celebrating 30 years in 2023 with a record 2,689 beers entered from around the world, the AIBA event saw Victoria’s Dollar Bill Brewing claim the prestigious title of Champion Australian Beer for their Candy Paint 2023 Barrel Aged Sour Ale, while Champion International Beer went to NBeer Craft Brewing Co, Sichuan, China for their Lindongjiangzhi Weizenbock.
The title of Champion Large Australian Brewery went to Mountain Goat Beer, Champion Medium Australian Brewery was awarded to Deeds Brewing, and Moffat Beach Brewing Co. took out Champion Small Australian Brewery.
