NZ’s highest rooftop bar opens in Auckland
New Zealand’s highest rooftop bar has opened on the 38th floor of Auckland’s newest lifestyle hotel, voco Auckland City Centre.
Bar Albert features art deco-inspired décor, an open-air deck, private event space and sweeping views across the city.
The voco hotel’s food and beverage concepts and outlets, including Bar Albert, have been designed in consultation with globally-recognised consultant Shane Giles from Blue Salt.
Head Mixologist and Bar Manager, Chelsey York, says she is excited to be joining the team at Bar Albert and serving cocktails in the speakeasy-inspired space.
“I’ve designed balanced cocktail menus that feature seasonal produce and are approachable for everyone. I love getting behind the bar and making new unique syrups, dehydrating fruits, creating mixes, and clarifying punches.”
The bar’s seasonal cocktails are named after central Auckland streets, with the Eden Crescent cocktail featuring Roots Dry Gin, Yellow Chartreuse, house-made pistachio and rosewater orgeat, a spray of rhubarb bitters, and a garnish of dried rose petal.
Bar Albert is open Tuesday to Saturday from 4pm.
