Beervana set to mark 21 years of beers

More than 70 breweries are confirmed for New Zealand’s biggest beer festival, Beervana, which turns 21 this year.

This year’s event, which will be held August 19-20 at Wellington’s SKY Stadium, has a new look and a line-up of breweries from New Zealand, Australia and elsewhere around the world. Tickets are on sale from June 20.

Beervana Manager, Ryan McArthur, says that Beervana is the ultimate celebration of New Zealand’s brewing industry. “What’s great about Beervana is that it brings together the industry and encourages collaboration and innovation.”

Several breweries are celebrating significant birthdays in 2022, including Emerson’s, which will be marking 30 years in the industry (and holding down the coveted ‘number one stand’ space), Brew Moon from Christchurch, which turns 21 and currently has the country’s only all-female brew team, and a fifth birthday celebration for Auckland’s Urbanaut.

As well as a strong line-up of Kiwi breweries, Beervana will also play host to Australian breweries, One Drop Brewing Co. (Botany NSW), Range Brewing (Newstead QLD) and Mountain Culture (Katoomba, NSW) among others. The Beer Jerk Trans-Tasman collaboration stand from Beer Jerk (NZ) and Carwyn Cellars (Aus) will showcase 12 beers from 12 Kiwi breweries collaborating with 12 Aussie breweries.

More participating breweries will be announced in stages in the lead-up to Beervana.
