Craggy Range tops Hospo NZ Awards for Excellence

Hawke’s Bay’s Craggy Range has come out on top in the 2024 Hospitality New Zealand Business Awards for Excellence.

Craggy Range Restaurant, at the Craggy Range Vineyard in Havelock North, took out the Supreme Winner title, while Richmond Club in Christchurch nabbed the coveted People’s Choice Award for the second year in a row.

The awards, which have been running for 26 years, honour New Zealand’s top hospitality and accommodation businesses.

The 2024 Hospitality New Zealand Business Awards for Excellence winners are:

  • Best Accommodation Provider: LyLo - Auckland

  • Best Bar : Market St - Napier

  • Best Café: Majestic at Mayfair - Christchurch

  • Best Destination Venue: Wharekauhau Country Estate - Wairarapa

  • Best Entertainment Venue: The Tahi Bar + Kitchen - Auckland

  • Best Gaming Venue: Smith & McKenzie Steak House - Hamilton

  • Best Hotel: The Hotel Britomart - Auckland

  • Best Local: Thistle Inn – Wellington

  • Best Motel: Radfords on the Lake - Te Anau

  • Best Restaurant: Craggy Range Restaurant - Havelock North

  • Sustainability Champion Award: Hotel Give | The Kind Foundation - Christchurch

  • Hall of Fame Inductee: Seaton Read

  • People’s Choice Award: Richmond Club - Christchurch

  • Supreme Winner - Craggy Range Restaurant - Havelock North

The 2024 People Awards for Excellence were announced the night before and celebrate those behind some of the country’s top hospitality and accommodation businesses.

The 2024 Hospitality New Zealand People Awards for Excellence winners are:

  • Accommodation Industry Leader of the Year: Hannah Chinnery of City Stay Apartments T/A Bolton Hotel.

  • Chef of the Year: Christopher Walker of EVT Hotels and Resorts. 

  • Future Leader of the Year: Rick Crannitch of Naumi Hotels.

  • Hospitality Industry Leader of the Year: Mason Lattimore of Kaiser Brew Garden.

  • Michael Friend Supplier of the Year: Amy Billaney of Rooms Online.
