DB to bring Better Beer to NZ

DB Breweries is to distribute popular Australian beer Better Beer Zero Carb Lager in New Zealand following an agreement between DB Breweries, craft drinks company Mighty Craft and Better Beer.

The Better Beer brand was born on Sydney’s South Coast as a collaboration with Matt Ford and Jack Steele from The Inspired Unemployed, a popular satirical Instagram account run by two ex-tradies that boasts over one million followers. Better Beer Zero Carb is described as “a refreshing lager with only 87 calories per can”.

Fraser Shrimpton, Marketing Director at DB Breweries, says: “Kiwis are increasingly making better decisions about alcohol based on their lifestyle, with demand soaring for products with lower carbohydrates and lower alcohol. The Better Beer brand aligns really well with these trends and has taken a fresh approach in Australia to really disrupt the category there, so we look forward to introducing the brand to Kiwi consumers as an exciting new addition to our portfolio.”

Better Beer Zero Carb is expected to launch in New Zealand in October this year. It will initially be manufactured in Australia and sold into New Zealand.
