Entries open for NZ Fruit Wine and Cider Awards
Entries are open until 17 September for the NZ Fruit Wine and Cider Awards.
The Awards, run by The Fruit Wine and Cider Makers Association of New Zealand (FWCMA), aim to recognise the high quality of cider produced in New Zealand, as well as the growing range of styles available.
Entry is available to all members of the FWCMA.
As in previous years, and because of the volume and diversity of cider now being produced in New Zealand, the event is run in two competitions: The NZ Cider Awards and the Fruit Wine & Mead Awards.
Medals and Trophies will be awarded across a range of categories including Modern NZ Cider, Speciality Cider, Fruit Wine & Mead, Alcoholic Soft Drink, Kombucha/Hard Tea.
A Champion Producer Trophy will also be awarded for the producer that exhibits the best range of cider and fruit wine overall in the competition.
Entries close on 17 September and judging will take place in Nelson from 24-25 September.
The Awards presentation will be held on Friday 1 November, with the 8th annual NZ Cider Festival taking place at Founders Heritage Park in Nelson the next day.
