Ready for NZ Rosé Day?

The annual celebration of New Zealand Rosé is coming up on Sunday 5 February, with NZ Rosé Day to be held over the Waitangi Day long weekend.

NZ Rosé Day was established eight years ago by wine and lifestyle company Sip NZ (now Caroha) as a way to raise awareness of New Zealand-made Rosé.

Local Rosé has come a long way in that time, with a wide variety of styles, sweetness levels, and price points available – with the premium Rosé category experiencing a significant increase over the years.

NZ Winegrowers says that Rosé is now the fourth largest New Zealand wine export, exporting 7.9 million litres globally in 2021 – double that of 2018 when New Zealand exported 3.6 million litres of Rosé, and 10 times that of 2010 at just 0.56 million litres.

It is also the fastest-growing wine variety in the country with every wine region throughout New Zealand producing Rosé.
