Scapegrace scoops Gold at BTI Awards

New Zealand craft distillery Scapegrace has scooped Gold for two of its vodka RTDs at the internationally acclaimed Beverage Testing Institute (BTI) Awards, recently announced in the USA.

The BTI Awards assesses RTDs from around the world on a range of areas, including taste, ingredients, design and manufacturing.

Scapegrace has been awarded Gold for its Delicious Red Apple & Pear and Hawkes Bay Lime & Soda vodka RTDs, up against more than 100 other entrants.

Scapegrace Marketing Director and co-founder Mark Neal says, “Off the back of the many international accolades we have had the honour of winning with our luxury spirits portfolio over the past eight years, we really wanted to see how our RTDs would sit amongst the world’s best. To receive both Gold and Silver is a huge achievement for the brand and testament to the importance of creating quality spirit products.”

In a statement announcing the win, Scapegrace says that it set itself up as a market leader by staying clear of the traditional ways of making the products (with mass-produced neutral spirit, or whey spirit) and instead following the same craft credentials that are instilled into its luxury spirit stable.

Scapegrace Managing Director and co-founder Daniel McLaughlin adds, “We treat the ready-to-drink category with the same level of quality and precision as we with our spirits portfolio. This award solidifies that for both the brand and our consumers.”
