Kiwi distillery tops Golds at World Gin Awards 2024

The Coromandel Distilling Company in Thames has won five Gold medals for its Awildian Gins at the World Gin Awards. It was the most Golds won by any distillery in the competition and a feat never before achieved by a New Zealand distillery.

The Coromandel Distilling Company is a micro distillery and describes itself as “one of the smallest distilleries in the world”. Every gin it entered into the awards was deemed to be New Zealand’s Best in Class.

Following the initial announcement of the medallists and Country Winners, judges will reveal the World’s Best titles later in February.

This year’s competition saw more than 900 entries from 47 countries across 12 categories, including London Dry, Contemporary, Flavoured, Navy, and Old Tom. There was one new category introduced for 2024: Colour-Changing Gin.
