Thirsty Camel now Campari NZ

Distributor Thirsty Camel NZ Ltd, a majority-owned joint venture, has changed its name to Campari New Zealand Ltd, a fully-owned in-market company of Campari Group.

In a statement announcing the change, effective from January 2025, Campari New Zealand Managing Director Phil Restall said “This is an important milestone in the history of the New Zealand business, as we are welcomed into a global multinational spirits business with worldwide global presence, manufacturing across 25 sites globally and a strong legacy dating back to Gaspare Campari in 1860. 

“The unwavering brand building focus and support Campari Group continue to place in New Zealand creates a strong platform for our business to be successful in the years to come.”

Aside from a new head office address and company name, all other company information remains the same. 

Established in 2004, Thirsty Camel began distributing the full Campari portfolio in New Zealand in January 2023, and Campari subsequently became the majority shareholder later that year.
